This was the challenge behind the restyling of Sankt Pauls’ Alte Reben Riserva range, a collection featuring some of the finest expressions from the South Tyrolean winery.
These wines originate from selected vineyard parcels, undergo extended ageing and reflect a constant pursuit of quality. Each bottle conveys the character of its terroir through intensity, elegance and remarkable ageing potential.
As part of our ongoing work to bring greater consistency to the product portfolio and strengthen the brand’s premium positioning, we developed a carefully considered evolution of its visual identity.
Rather than introducing a radical change, we took a measured approach: a restyling designed to enhance perceived quality, improve legibility and make the communication clearer and more effective for both the trade and the final consumer.
The project was developed around the goal of preserving the original spirit of the packaging while introducing innovative elements capable of elevating its overall perception.
One of the key changes was the addition of the brand name and wine designation to the front label, making each product more recognisable, immediate and effective across different commercial settings.
In wine packaging, the perception of value is also shaped by the choice of materials. For this reason, the project introduced a significant evolution in both materials and finishing techniques, including:
Fasson Cotton White Plus cotton paper, selected for its more premium and distinctive feel.
Replacing the previous Braille treatment with a more refined and contemporary embossed detail.
Applied to both the product name, with a pointed finish, and the supporting text to improve legibility and enhance perceived quality.
Applied to the brand name to give it greater prominence and refinement.
Replacing the previous capsule for a more modern and elegant appearance.
Colour is another defining element of the restyling. While the previous range used only two colour variants—one for the white wines and one for the reds—the new design introduces four distinctive colours, one for each wine.
This choice strengthens the identity of each individual product, improves shelf recognition and makes the range as a whole more varied, structured and easy to navigate.
At NSG, we design wine packaging that enhances brand identity, improves legibility and strengthens market positioning.
