They say wine is first drunk with the eyes. A truth that leaves out those who do not use their eyes. What if we took away one sense for those who can see, too?
That is where Senza 1 Senso comes from, ViniPlus’s initiative for the twenty years of the Lombardy Guide, created with AIS Lombardia and UICI Milano. NSG’s task was to give it shape: a label to be touched and listened to.
On Friday 16 October, in London, it won a Bronze at the Pentawards 2026, in the category dedicated to innovation and accessible packaging. The Pentawards are the international benchmark award for packaging design. For NSG, it is the first.

Turning a limit into a possibility
The label is black on black. Reading it takes attention, time and a change of perspective. Those who can see feel, for an instant, a difficulty that for others is daily, and realise how much packaging can exclude without anyone noticing.
It is a design choice: braille entrusts the main information to the fingers, an NFC tag starts the story of the wine in a voice. There is a single bottle. The same tools for anyone who picks it up.
In June, Pentawards had mentioned the project in “Trends Revisited: Mid-Year Reflections”, under the “Bye Bye Barriers” trend. It was a mention; today it is an award. A recognition of a way of working: starting from thinking, then from form.

We share it with ViniPlus, AIS Lombardia and UICI Milano, who believed in this idea. And with the partners who gave substance to the label: UPM Raflatac for the label stock, La Commerciale for printing, Luxoro for the hot foil, OREV for the NFC technology.
We started with why. We arrived in London.
